Calendar
My friend Kelly and her husband Matt build log homes. It was a goal of theirs to have one of their homes make it into the calendar the company they work with puts out every year. So Randy and I spent a couple days this past late spring taking pics of the interior of their home, as well as others they have built. Well, she found out today that they made the 2017 calendar! How exciting. So glad we were able to be apart of making that happen for them. And it wasn't just one home, but a few.
You can see their work at www.lakelandloghomes.com
Debbie Who?
We were very surprised to receive a Debbie Hart Award at Art on the Lake in Excelsior MN. This was the largest of the three shows we have done so far and did not even remotely expect to be a contender. We were able to find out more about Debbie and what this award means from the lovely couple in the tent next to us. She sounded like an amazing human being who did wonderful things for this art show and the community. Thank you so much to the judges for this honor.
Rivertown Art Festival
Our first time at Rivertown Art Festival in Stillwater was a good time and we learned some things. Saturday the skies looked scary for most of the day, but generally we stayed pretty dry with the exception of a few times. Sunday was a perfect summer day, which brought the people out and about. This is a good thing when you do what we do.
We were again surprised with an award, this time Third Place overall. Sweet :)
Surprise!
What a pleasant surprise to browse Facebook this morning and see the Earth Arts Spring Tour brochure with Randy's photo, Stillness, on the cover. Sweet!
This was a photo Randy edited last year. It was one of my new favorites. I encouraged him to print some for art shows for the Christmas and winter season. None sold. I told him to not be discouraged, that it was a good edit and it would eventually sell. Well, let me tell you that this kinda validated what I was telling him. It's hard to tell someone something is good and then not have anything come of it. So yay!! I told him so ;)
(UPDATE: As of July this has been the number one selling frame at art shows!)
